It’s a cold day… October 31, 2004

Dish Network has a election day “interactive” feature where you can watch 6 different channels of election day coverage simultaneously… they show 4 of the usual suspects (CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN, MSNBC) and MTV and Comedy Central. It’s strange that out of 200+ channels, some of the best coverage is from entertainment stations. I know the daily show is popular, but man!

Also in the interactive application, Dish Network had a “Dish Poll” that shows that Dish Network customers give Kerry 50% of the vote, Bush 48%, and Nader 2%. I too can vote in this poll, if I’m willing to pay $.50. Who on earth would pay 50 cents to vote on a TV poll buried deep in an obscure menu? Talk about milking their customers!

Shark Tale October 23, 2004

Lenny and Oscar from Shark TaleI just watched Shark Tale (it does not deserve the horrible reviews it’s received–it’s more like Antz than Finding Nemo, which isn’t what people expected) and it seems to me that the moral the producers were trying to instill is, well, a little fishy.

Let’s see here, Lenny’s (the main shark in the movie) father won’t accept him so he runs away to the big city. There he comes out of the closet by announcing his uniqueness to a rainbow colored fish (the first person he’s told), cross-dresses by painting himself to look like a dolphin, and takes joy in dressing up as a construction worker. Then at a tearful reunion at a car wash, his father learns to accept him for who he is.

Is Lenny gay? Nope, it’s even worse. He’s vegetarian!

“…one of TV’s best dramas - not just best sci-fi, but best drama, period.”
–Diane Werts, Newsday

If you haven’t seen Farscape, it’s time to start watching. It’s the best TV show I’ve ever watched. Period. Each episode is completely unpredictable and, without exception, fascinating, interesting, and exciting. I’ve been catching up on the last 4 episodes in preparation for the new mini-series coming in two weeks… and I can’t wait. The show is so damn good! I’m not sure if the mini-series will make any sense without seeing the rest of the episodes, but check out the show (and catch up on the story) at this great fan site: Farwhat.

“[Kerry]’s decided to put his faith in the wisdom of the government. I will always put my faith in the wisdom of the American people.” - George Bush

Since Bush is the head of the government, does he have no faith in himself?
