I don’t know… maybe the first amendment? I did a search to see which way my users leaned: Democrats vs Republicans. Looks tied to me. Browsing the political icons section shows a wide variety of different views points including someone who thinks Elmo should be the next president (we could do worse) and a lot of people who want Pedro (from Napoleon Dynamite) to be president. I think Iconator is the new face of politics… little 7kb 49×49 animated graphics summarizing one’s world-view… no matter what you believe, you can find an icon for it.

Posted by Owen in : Internet , add a commentI was recently downloading something from BitTorrent, and it was really slow.
I was playing around with the options and I noticed a few things:
- Azureus supports UPnP (universal plug and play).
- My router also supports UPnP.
- BitTorrent works faster when there’s an open port
Sure enough, when I enabled UPnP in Azureus, my router forwared the BitTorrent port to the appropriate computer. And when I quit Azureus, the port was closed. Now this is how easy everything should be.
